This zine is a comparison between two very unlikely topics: Vietnamese Pho and the Male/Female statue (Borofsky) in front of Penn Station in Baltimore, MD. I chose to focus on these topics because they were my newest discoveries when I arrived in Baltimore. Eventually, I made the unintentional discovery that both pho and Male/Female (humans) have a sort of procedure when making them... So, I drew comparisons between the creation of pho and the creation of human beings. I took my own photos of the food and the statue, and placed a few pho ingredients onto the studio scanner. Scanning food was definitely a first, but a fun and successful experiment! The excessive use of red is most important because it represents the love of the culture and of human beings.
